Update after finishing the whole series。 The ending left me disappointed (except for a few characters) and everything felt kinda rushed, leaving lots of unanswered questions as well as plotholes。 Still enjoyed reading it tho。

i’m a few months late, but i finally finished aot。 this series got me so emotionally invested that i’m sobbing in a corner as i write this。 even though i spoiled a little bit of the ending on instagram, i still wasn’t ready for it。 i don’t think i’ll ever be。 all the characters, the places, the inside jokes, the story, the BACKstory, the myth itself, everything in this series is so incredibly epic and awesome that my only concern now is that i’ll never be able to find something to compare it to。 i’m a few months late, but i finally finished aot。 this series got me so emotionally invested that i’m sobbing in a corner as i write this。 even though i spoiled a little bit of the ending on instagram, i still wasn’t ready for it。 i don’t think i’ll ever be。 all the characters, the places, the inside jokes, the story, the BACKstory, the myth itself, everything in this series is so incredibly epic and awesome that my only concern now is that i’ll never be able to find something to compare it to。 and to even think that i started watching the anime for the scenery。 i’ll always remember this story and the way it inspired me。 i’ll always remember to dedicate my heart for the things i believe in。 。。。more

Had to take 3 to 5 business days to properly process this mf ending。 Marvellous storytelling, world building and character development。 Intense and thrilling till the end。 Isayama is a freaking genius。 Can't wait for 2022 to see the last part of AOT animated。 Had to take 3 to 5 business days to properly process this mf ending。 Marvellous storytelling, world building and character development。 Intense and thrilling till the end。 Isayama is a freaking genius。 Can't wait for 2022 to see the last part of AOT animated。 。。。more

Did the author stick the landing? No。 Was it absolutely terrible though? No。The last chapter felt rushed and under-explained。 The author could definitely have used two to three more chapters to give a proper send off to this mamoth of a story。 While I did understand what the author wanted to do and say, I feel like the substance was there but the execution was poor。 A lot of other things also seemed to come out of nowhere like Ymir in love or flying Falco。It's a bit of a pity that such a tremend Did the author stick the landing? I'm so amazed by how much events relate to each others and affect the future。 I can see the depth in the characters' personalities and their inner conflicts。 You can actually feel and understand why certain things happen and why the "antagonists" do what they do and not simply by an evil urge。One of the things I can take away from the story is that you should not ruin your children with your own hatred and raise them to be someone they are not。 First time I've ever read a sad-ending (is it?) sto I'm so amazed by how much events relate to each others and affect the future。 I can see the depth in the characters' personalities and their inner conflicts。 You can actually feel and understand why certain things happen and why the "antagonists" do what they do and not simply by an evil urge。One of the things I can take away from the story is that you should not ruin your children with your own hatred and raise them to be someone they are not。 First time I've ever read a sad-ending (is it?) story but not disappointed, I actually enjoy getting my heart broken like this:) I did get very emotional at some parts, especially when Eren sees the ocean for the first time in reality but instead of joy, he feels disappointed。 He doesn't deserve all of this trouble but that's the price for having so much power and knowledge。 Poor Eren。 He lost the chance to experience the world like he should have had。 。。。more

Senden neden nefret edemiyorum Isayama? Cidden bunu düşündüm uzun uzun son volumeları okurken。 Yorumlarda çoğu kişi sonunun böyle bitmesine şaşırsa da ben şaşıramıyorum。 Tatmin oldum bile denebilir。*SPOILER*。。。Chapter 138'de Eren'le Mikasa'nın beraber herkesten uzakta geçirdiği anlar çok hoşuma gitti özellikle。 Eren'in burada Mikasa'dan gerçekten hoşlandığını öğrendik, her ne kadar daha sonra 'seni hiç sevmedim Mikasa' deyip okuyucuların kalbini kırsa da。İlk sezondan beri mutlu bir son beklemedi Senden neden nefret edemiyorum Isayama? and when will hajime isayama pay for his crimes against humanity's mental stability?this whole finale, i fear it may be years before i ever recover。 i really loved chapters 135-137, especially 138 being a masterpiece of pain, those were beautifully done in my opinion, with the tension of battle, the squad dynamics, the hard hitting dialogue between characters just the outright fear of what would be the outcome。 it's 2 am my head is pounding in pain, i should've put off 139 forever, thank you isa and when will hajime isayama pay for his crimes against humanity's mental stability?this whole finale, i fear it may be years before i ever recover。 i really loved chapters 135-137, especially 138 being a masterpiece of pain, those were beautifully done in my opinion, with the tension of battle, the squad dynamics, the hard hitting dialogue between characters just the outright fear of what would be the outcome。 it's 2 am my head is pounding in pain, i should've put off 139 forever, thank you isayama for this world but also *flips off* for the absolute extreme trauma you've put me through。 some of these panels hurt yet were meaningfully stunning while others were straight up more pain for our eyes for no reason。 god can't wait to be traumatized again seeing the rest of the war of paradis arc animated, especially particular panels。 my rating does not apply to the 139 and its extra pages though, my rating would be much lower if taking those into account。 the whole history repeating itself, sick to my stomach at the though it makes sense realistically because history truly does but i choose to ignore that ending for the sake of grasping at straws of joy after going through this series。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 I think it's a very misunderstood ending。 It's not executed perfectly, and there are things I would like to have been different, but generally, everything felt very in line with the themes and characters。 I don't really get the explosive negative reaction from a portion of the fanbase, especially those who wanted ANR theory to be true (it wasn't even the most interesting fan theory)。 I really like the direction Isayama took Eren's character, and the more I think about it, the more layers I am pe I think it's a very misunderstood ending。 It's not executed perfectly, and there are things I would like to have been different, but generally, everything felt very in line with the themes and characters。 I don't really get the explosive negative reaction from a portion of the fanbase, especially those who wanted ANR theory to be true (it wasn't even the most interesting fan theory)。 I really like the direction Isayama took Eren's character, and the more I think about it, the more layers I am peeling back and finding new things to appreciate。 AOT has always been about recontextualization, and the final chapter is no different。 The titans have always been an allegory that relates to technological advancement and the monstrous 'other' weaponized through racism, nationalism, propaganda, etc。 But the more direct allegory is that the monster is ourselves。 Humanity is an ouroboros that is consuming itself。 That is best summarized in the ending of Eren Jaeger, where he has to reckon with that he is ultimately the source of his suffering。 。。。more

5 stars for the whole series, not just this volume。Saying that Attack On Titan is the best manga ever might be debatable, but no one can say that it isn't a masterpiece。 It is gory, f*cked up, very well crafted, it tackled sensible topics and the author didn't manage us with a lot of heart-wrenching and cruel moments。 I must admit that this genre of manga is not something I thought I would love and be obssessed with, I postponed reading the last volumes for so many months and here I am today cry 5 stars for the whole series, not just this volume。Saying that Attack On Titan is the best manga ever might be debatable, but no one can say that it isn't a masterpiece。 It is gory, f*cked up, very well crafted, it tackled sensible topics and the author didn't manage us with a lot of heart-wrenching and cruel moments。 I must admit that this genre of manga is not something I thought I would love and be obssessed with, I postponed reading the last volumes for so many months and here I am today crying and saying goodbye to one of my most favorite mangas ever。 。。。more

How could it all have gone to sh*t? This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 Okie dokie…。Here we go。Attack on Titan has a brutal start。 It’s alluringly dark with its setting, it’s brilliantly captured with titans and 3dmg, and it’s unnecessarily ruined by expository accompanied by repetition。 I suppose my real gripe is when AoT veered too closely to history, lost its manga-like aspects and became a weird hybrid of a historical documentary。 The lifeblood of what captured many people will not see them to the end。 I’ve made it to the finale simply because I can slam the ac Okie dokie…。Here we go。Attack on Titan has a brutal start。 It’s alluringly dark with its setting, it’s brilliantly captured with titans and 3dmg, and it’s unnecessarily ruined by expository accompanied by repetition。 I suppose my real gripe is when AoT veered too closely to history, lost its manga-like aspects and became a weird hybrid of a historical documentary。 The lifeblood of what captured many people will not see them to the end。 I’ve made it to the finale simply because I can slam the accelerator even through piles of shit, which is what I’ve had to do ever since the beast titan made its appearance。 Now don’t get me wrong, I’m sure there are plenty of people who will absolutely love what’s going on here…For me, as the series went on what happened in my mind is the opposite of what I feel that’s supposed to happen with good or great stories。 Translation? As the series progressed I became less interested in ALL the characters, the titans became negligent, the 3dmg became negligent, we’re served new characters who have no chance of winning me over on the basis that even the star characters are not winning me over。 I could give a lesser shit about what’s happening between Eldia and Marley, and I’m half convinced Levi and the beast titan will have a 3rd go around where Levi lets the fucker live for absolutely no reason。 Oh wait… The plot is absolutely atrocious。 Time travel (via memories), convenient omissions, subverting established norms, and the repetition of the superior part of the manga make AoT look a lot more clever than it is。 And the above reasons are why I adored the series; the 3dmg is unique, cool and cleverly adapted。 It reminds me of something so simple like the death note being used to create incredibly cool, fun scenarios。 The titans are eerie, creepy, and keep you on the edge of your seat even when they’re not present (bar the latter half), the constant fear of death is lurking behind every character’s visage, and the list will go on。 Everything on said list is absent halfway, probably 1/3, through the manga。 The smell of suspense on every page, a feeling that ANYTHING can happen excites me so that I feel cheated when the author takes a turn away from it。 Maybe that is the basis of all my critiques。 This is not too distant about how I felt with Promised Neverland。 Honestly I feel like a lot of these ideas would be so much better suited if the story took a different direction。 And there it is。 Just as there’s that feeling, there’s the idea that you have of every manga, book, video game, or whatever before you experience your mind takes a dive into what it could be。 My version of what Attack on Titan could be surpassed what I was given。TLDR: I enjoyed the first sips of this drink。 God-awful aftertaste。 Y’know what I’ll just have something else。 。。。more
